At peak times you may be offered an appointment with the GP+ service based at Riverside Clinic in Ipswich or at Barrack Lane Medical Centre during Out Of Hours (After 18:30 & on Weekends). This service is available to registered patients in the evening and at weekends and is an extension of the usual service provided to you by Barrack Lane Medical Centre.
We will arrange for you to be seen by a clinician who has access, with your, consent, to your medical records and who will keep your usual GP fully informed of any diagnosis and treatment provided. The Riverside Clinic is located at 2 Landseer Road, Ipswich, Suffolk, IP3 0AZ.
Please note: The Riverside Clinic and the GP+ Clinics at Barrack Lane are NOT a walk-in Centre and GP+ appointments can only be arranged via the practice or the 111 (Out of Hours) service.
Once a month all GP practices in Suffolk close down for an afternoon for staff training and education. This means we will not be able to offer any appointments during this time at the surgery but the doors will be open for general admin and prescription queries. The training is essential to allow our clinicians and staff to give the best care possible to all of our patients and have the most up-to-date training.
During the shutdown, Out of Hours services will cover the general practice to enable patients to continue to receive care. If you are in need of urgent medical assistance during the shutdown, please dial 111. If you have a life threatening medical emergency, please dial 999. Please see below the dates for the planned training and education afternoons
