NHS Services Offered
CCC [Continuing Care Clinic]
Specialist clinics, run by highly trained nurses, are available to provide support and
continuing care to patients living with many long term medical conditions.
We are very proud of our practice-nurse led CCC or continuing care clinic which has paved the way for the Practice achieving maximum quality points in the government's QOF [Quality and Outcomes Framework] initiative for the third consecutive year. In 2008 we were the only practice to have achieved that honour in Ipswich, and one of only a handful in East Suffolk.
The clinics serve people with a variety of Long Term Conditions and include:
- CHD [Coronary Heart Disease] and Heart Failure
- Stroke
- Hypertension [High Blood Pressure]
Chronic Kidney Disease- Diabetes
- Asthma
- COPD [Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease]
- Epilepsy
- Hypothyroidism [Underactive Thyroid]
Smoking Cessation
Our practice nurses are trained to help you quit smoking and have contributed to getting hundreds of people to give it up. Did you know that Nicotine Replacement Therapy [NRT] is available on prescription in the NHS? This makes it MUCH cheaper to get it from the clinic on prescription than to buy it yourself from the chemist. Obviously it is FREE if you don't pay for your prescriptions. We can also prescribe tablets to get you off the cigarettes if need be.
So go on! Why not give it a go? An appointment can be booked morning, afternoons or evenings!
Contraceptive Services
Full services are provided by the doctors and practice nurses. These include oral contraceptives, coils, caps, injections and implants.
Child Development Assessments
The doctors undertake developmental assessments on children at the age of 6 weeks. Our health visitors are also actively involved in monitoring child development and undertake regular routine checkups.
Finally, all children are offered pre-school checks with the doctor before their fifth birthday.
Maternity Services
All the partners are trained in antenatal care, postnatal care, contraceptive services, minor surgery and the developmental assessment of children. Our doctors all offer antenatal and postnatal appointments.
We have 3 midwives who hold their clinics at both Barrack Lane and Stoke Park
